travel log for the great race

From Denver to Washington D.C at the Smithsonian castle then from D.C to The Cradle of Liberty Boston we went to The U.S.S Constitution and in the Pit stop we made a summer sun log based off of Ben Franklin’s work. from there I went to new york to the empire state building to find out about the mast on top. From New York I went to Paris,France to visit the world famous Louvre museum to decipher the anagram “so dark the con of man”and make a slide show about what I found. I then took a trip to Ile de la cite to find a temple built to honor the roman God Jupiteruss-constitution.jpgben_franklin.jpgboston_1842.jpgsmithsonian-castle.jpgjadams.jpegsummer-sun.jpglouvre_at_night_centered.jpg

Doodle 4 Google

In my tech class we are working on a new project for the Google doodle contest. We are using inventions that have changed the way we live. The invention that I chose is the satellite. I chose the satellite because I think that the satellite was the biggest technological advancement of the 20th century. There is no individual inventor because the U.S.S.R(The union of soviet socialist republicans)launched the first man made satellite into space in 1957. The Sputnik was about the size of a beach ball and weighed almost 184 lbs. It wasn’t even a year later when the U.S.A launched a satellite into space. Explorer 1 was launched January 31,1958. It was smaller and lighter than Sputnik and shaped like a rocket. Different types of satellites accomplish different tasks. Research satellites are sent into space to collect information about the galaxy around us. Communications satellites are used for telephones, radio and television frequencies. Weather satellites send information on real time weather updates to news and services. Navigational satellites are used mainly for GPS(Global Positioning System)purposes and help you find your way. Satellites have changed drastically since the beginning. In the beginning most satellites were used for Army tasks only but have since developed into devices to help us in our everyday life(even if we don’t realize it). From getting directions to the nearest ice cream store or listening to the ball game on the radio satellites help us out in everyday life.

Pro-life

This ad is against abortion. I think that abortion should only be performed in cases of rape or incest and to save the mothers life. This ad supports my views that I share with presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Five views I share with Mitt Romney

1:I believe that we should crack down and ultimately end illegal immigration.

Romney:We should promote legal immigration and stop providing amnesty to illegal immigrants. Also create a database to track all illegal immigrants, and secure the border and crack down on illegal immigrant employers.

2:I also think that education should be a top priority in America.

Romney:I will improve the no child left behind act and give attention to individuals not just entire schools.

3:In my opinion our current healthcare system should be improved and everyone should be insured.

Romney:We should help people buy private insurance without raising taxes so everyone in America can be covered.

4:I agree with Romney on life and culture views.

Romney:I believe that marriage is a union between one man and one woman, I am pro-life abortion is wrong and should only be performed during cases of incest, rape,or to save the mothers life.

5:Radical jihad needs to be stopped,it causes o many injuries and fatality’s around the world.

Romney:Radical jihad is getting worse so we will create a special partnership force designed to separate terrorists from civilians.

Presidential Image and Persuading the Public

mitt_romney_for_president_sign.jpgIn my eighth grade technology class we are currently working in a presidential image and persuasion project. I took a quiz and found out that Mitt Romney is the candidate that has the same views as I do. Like every campaign ad the target audience is anyone who is allowed to vote. But certain candidates target a certain group of people depending on their own personal views. Mitt targets (in my opinion) older republicans who are fed up with the way “Washington” is running the country. I know this because in all is ads and speech’s he talks about what Washington as done wrong. Mitt’s ads all focus on the idea of change in Washington and they all convey the message accurately. His ads must get his message past because he finished first or second in all caucuses so far. His ads and views are in almost perfect agreement with mine, Washington needs to change.

His slogan’s support his views. Some of his more famous slogans are,”I’ll tear Washington apart and put it back together again.” and,”Washington said they’ll crack down on illegal immigration, they didn’t,Washington said they would improve our schools they didn’t,etc.”These slogan’s show that there needs to be a change in Washington.
